Reno Rodeo Donates More than $69,300 to Local Organizations

RENO, Nev.– The Reno Rodeo Association presented checks totaling $69,300 to nine community organizations thanks to the proceeds from the 2019 Reno Rodeo 50/50 raffle.

2019 Reno Rodeo Association President Mike Torvinen made personal visits to each organization and presented $5,000 each to the Sierra Nevada Junior Rodeo and the Washoe County 4-H; $5,500 each to the University of Nevada, Reno Rodeo Team and Bikers Against Child Abuse; $5,600 to the Center for Adaptive Riding; $6,100 to the Wildland Firefighters Association; $6,600 to the Nevada Military Support Alliance; $7,000 to Heroes and Horses; and $23,000 to Moms on the Run.

The 50/50 raffle tickets were sold each night of the 2019 Reno Rodeo. Half the proceeds were awarded to the person with the winning number at the end of the night and the other half were awarded to the night’s designated community organization. Charities were chosen based on community impact, most in need and those who further rodeo culture.
