Rose of Willard, Mo., qualified for her first Wrangler NFR in 2019 and looking to return again in 2020. A win at RodeoHouston would go a long way in accomplishing that goal. Rose won two out of three rounds in Houston to finish her bracket with $6,000. She captured the first round victory in a time of 15.26 seconds and returned to the top of the leaderboard in the third round with a time of 15.07 seconds.

“Thank you Louie for winning the final round of our set today at RodeoHouston,” wrote Rose on Facebook on Sunday night. “We were high money earners of our set along with Real Deal’s winnings in round 1! Now onto the semifinals in a few weeks!”

Louie is Rose’s 7-year old gelding with registered name Famous Illusion and RR Meradas Real Deal “Real Deal” is her 12-year old standout gelding that carried her to her first NFR qualification.

Joining Rose in the semifinals will be another former Wrangler NFR qualifier Jessie Telford who finished with $5,000 after two second place finishes and a third place finish. WPRA Texas Circuit Director Lois Ferguson will advance as third high money winner in the bracket with a total of $3,500 after two fourths and a second place finish. Rounding out the top 4 is WPRA World Champion Mary Walker with $3,000 after winning the second round in a time of 14.82 seconds, the fastest time of Super Series II.
