Round-Up Adds to Board of Directors

Red Bluff Round-Up adds new security director to team

Red Bluff, Calif. – A new man has been appointed to the Red Bluff Round-Up Board of Directors.

Gary Ramos has been chosen as the new security director at the Red Bluff Round-Up.

Ramos, a Red Bluff resident, is a long-time rodeo fan. Originally from the Bay Area, Ramos knows the ins and outs of the sport of rodeo and continues to want to learn more. He began volunteering by simply walking into the Downtown Mercantile Store and asking how he could help. Since then, he and his wife Liz, have volunteered for a number of Round-Up events.

As time went on, the Red Bluff Round-Up Board of Directors and staff got to know Ramos and thought he might be a good fit to help with security at the rodeo. Ramos served as a sheriff deputy for over 30 years and retired as a sheriff sergeant with the San Mateo Sheriff’s Office.

“The security director is a very important piece in this puzzle to put on this size of a production,”, says James Miller, general manager of the Round-Up. We’re lucky to have Gary in our community, and now on our board”.

Along with his security duties, Gary also spends time in the downtown store. “I enjoy working at the store. It gives me an opportunity to meet people in the community.”

Ramos has visited more than 10 rodeos over the past year to learn and observe how other neighboring rodeos are run and see the production from a different standpoint.

At the monthly board meeting on October 16, Ramos was officially voted on the board.

“I’m really excited to join the board of directors for such a prestigious event. Not only do I get to enjoy the rodeo every year, I now get to help make it happen,” Ramos said.
