Rudman Wins Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Event in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa – After an exhilarating night at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Dalton Rudman (Wellington, Utah) emerged victorious and claimed the first Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) event win of his career at the Lucas Oil Invitational.

As the bovine athletes of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) showcased their extraordinary athleticism, Rudman was able to go 2-for-2 on Saturday night.

Matched against Rampage (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) in the opening round of the night, Rudman launched from the chutes to collect an 84.5-point ride score.

Rudman put up a score of 85.5 points in the championship round aboard Shootist (L4 Livestock) to clinch the win as the night closed.

As one of only three men to ride two bulls in Des Moines, the 26-year-old earned 36.5 world points.

The other two riders to go 2-for-2 on Saturday were Lane Nobles (West, Texas) and Mason Moody (Letcher, South Dakota) in a tie for second place.

Nobles began the night with 81 points aboard War Paint (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) in Round 1. Paired with Fire Water (CG Bucking Bulls/ Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC.) in the championship round, the 30-year-old Texan had the crowd at full volume when he delivered the highest score of the night with an 87.5-point effort. The second-place finish earned Nobles 23 world points.

Moody fired out of the chutes in Round 1 aboard Cold Taco (L4 Livestock) for 84 points. Advancing to the championship round, the 18-year-old South Dakotan again was in complete control as he bested Crazed Addiction (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) for 84.5 points. He leaves Iowa with 19 world points.

Dakota Eagleburger (Fair Grove, Missouri) went 1-for-2 for a fourth-place finish.

In Round 1, the Missouri cowboy was paired with Times Up (CG Bucking Bulls/ Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC.). Despite his best efforts, Eagleburger hit the ground after just 7.53 seconds. Making it back to the championship round based on buck-off time, Eagleburger bested Superman (CG Bucking Bulls/ Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC) in the final round for 86 points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in Des Moines was 21-year-old Cole Skender (Hamburg, Arkansas), who also went 1-for-2.

Skender wowed the crowd in Round 1 when he held on until the whistle atop Political Promise (CG Bucking Bulls/ Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC) for 85.5 points and the round victory. However, the Arkansas man couldn’t repeat his performance on the final ride of the evening, coming down early off Midnight Rider (L4 Livestock) in 4.91 seconds. Skender wound up finishing in fifth place overall, collecting 11 world points.

The talented bull riders of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will next head to Dayton, Ohio, for the ZipRecruiter Rumble at Nutter Center on Oct. 23. The action gets underway at 7 p.m. EDT.
