San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo & Rodeo Announces International Wine Competition Winners

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has announced the Champion wines that competed in the International Wine Competition held September 9-10, 2019. These award-winning wines were selected by an impressive panel that judged over 1,000 entries. Nearly 350 wineries from around the world submitted entries with 27 from Texas. The Champion Wines are:

• Grand Champion – 2016 Reata Three County Pinot Noir

• Reserve Champion – 2014 LangeTwins Family Winery and Vineyards Centennial Zinfandel

• Top All-Around Winery – LangeTwins Family Winery and Vineyards

• Best of Herd Texas Winery – Becker Vineyards

• Best of Show Red Wine – 2015 Krutz Family Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Stagecoach Vineyard’, Napa Valley

• Best of Show White Wine – 2017 Black Stallion Estate Winery Chardonnay, Napa Valley

Proceeds from all wine events and the Wine Garden benefit the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Scholarship Fund with a portion for the advancement of viticulture.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo takes place February 6-23, 2020. It has received the PRCA Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year award for over a decade. Established in 1949, it has grown to be one of the largest and most prestigious single events in the city with nearly 2 million visitors each year. The success of the organization is attributed to over 6,000 volunteers who give countless hours to the organization.
