TicketSmarter Morning Line – PBR World Finals Round 2

By: Slade Long

The bulls tonight should be much more rider-friendly, and on top of that this is a draft round, so there are a lot of good matchups. This may be a tougher round to win for guys who picked on the safe side. You need a standout bull to get the win in a round where there should be a lot of scores on the board.

Boudreaux Campbell on 599 Bullseye:

Bullseye has carried a couple of riders to 90-plus-point scores this year, and a couple of 89.5s as well. He’s a great fit for left-handed riders; in fact, his most noticeable stat line is that he’s 3-10 against lefties in his career and 0-5 against them in 2020. Campbell should be a heavy favorite to win this matchup, but this may not be enough bull to win the round on.

Derek Kolbaba on 444 Big Black:

Kolbaba is 1-for-3 against Big Black, but he probably should have been 3-for-3. Big Black is an obvious great pick for any lefty, and he’s carried riders to round wins 12 times in 16 career qualified rides. That is an outstanding record for any bull, to the point that not picking him when you have the chance is like giving someone else a 75% chance of winning the round. To give you an idea of how good this bull is as a round winner, Campbell’s bull Bullseye has given up just one round win in 10 qualified rides, and he’s also a fantastic pick in this round.

Eduardo Aparecido on 913 Monkey:

Aparecido had the second pick in this draft round, and he probably could have picked a better bull than this one. Monkey is a solid bull, good for a right-handed rider, and Cole Melancon was 88.25 points on him in this arena back in February, but that’s the highest score he’s produced. He’s been ridden twice since then for under 86 points. In his last three outs he’s blanked Silvano Alves, Keyshawn Whitehorse and Jose Vitor Leme. Aparecido should be the favorite here, but may not place in a round that is full of great matchups.

Mason Taylor on 138 M.A.G.A.

Taylor is hot at the right time. He’s turned in four 89-plus-point rides in his last six outs, made a great ride for 89.25 last night, and he was 89.25 on this bull in 2019. M.A.G.A. is a quality veteran bull who has been to the Finals in 2018 and 2019, and helped guys place in two of his three World Finals outs.

Jose Vitor Leme on 34 Louisville Slugger:

There were easier bulls Leme could have picked here. He’s looking for a bull that can give him a round win, and Louisville Slugger is capable of doing that. Matt Triplett rode him for 92 points at a Touring Pro level event over the summer, and he’s turned in bull scores around 44 points at this level. He’s one of the better scoring bulls in the round.

Brock Radford on 437B Lil 2 Train:

Radford has a nice matchup here with good scoring potential. Lil 2 Train has averaged right at 44 points per out this year, and he’s given up scores in the 88-92 point range in just under half his 2020 outs. He’s a solid fit for lefty riders as well. Radford was 89 last night on a very similar bull.

Tye Chandler on 517 Space Force:

This could be a second straight score and a great start to the Finals for Chandler, who finished third in the opening round with 89.5 points. Space Force consistently goes to the right, and has pretty good timing. Chandler should get along with him going into his hand.

Jess Lockwood on 711 Sharon’s Lil Twister:

Don’t count Lockwood out. He’s a fierce competitor, and last night probably made him mad. This bull is a great fit for him, and posted a bull score of just under 45 points in his last out in Nampa. If he has that kind of day here, Lockwood could bounce back from last night with a Round 2 win.

Ryan Dirteater on A19 Bezerk:

Veteran bull vs. veteran rider here. Dirteater is 2-for-2 against Bezerk for more than 89 points each time. In his last World Finals, Dirteater may come up with a clip for the highlight reel here. He picked rather late in the draft, and still got a good matchup.

Kaique Pacheco on 0 Bronstad’s Boomer:

This is something of a surprising pick. Boomer doesn’t have a long history, but he’s unridden in eight career outs. Pacheco likely has some insider knowledge of this bull, who tossed Cody Nance in under a second in Fort Worth earlier this season. Pacheco is a threat to ride any and every bull, as everyone witnessed last night.
