Top Stock of 2020 Wrangler NFR Named

A pair of roughstock stars were rewarded for their performances at the 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, and a newcomer joined them in the spotlight.

Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Nutrena’s Killer Bee and Northcott Macza Pro Rodeo’s OLS Tubs Get Smart were selected top bareback horse and saddle bronc horse, respectively, of the 2020 NFR. Universal Pro Rodeo’s Pookie Holler was chosen as the top bull.

Killer Bee, 15, weighs 1,350 pounds and is 16.3 hands tall.

At the 2020 Wrangler NFR, Killer Bee was chosen top bareback horse in Round 8 after bucking off Cole Reiner. Richmond Champion also finished third in Round 3 with an 87.5-point ride aboard Killer Bee.

Killer Bee has quite the résumé. Killer Bee was the 2019 PRCA Bareback Horse of the Year and was voted top bareback horse in Round 3 of the 2019 NFR after bucking off Austin Foss. She was also the top bareback horse of the 2018 NFR and the top saddle bronc horse of the 2013 and 2014 NFR. Killer Bee was runner-up for the 2015 saddle bronc horse of the year.

Get Smart, 19, weighs 1,100 pounds and is 14.3 hands tall.

Like Killer Bee, Get Smart is no stranger to acclaim. He was the 2019 PRCA Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year and the top saddle bronc horse of the 2018 NFR.

Get Smart is also the reigning, five-time Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year.

At Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Get Smart bucked off Stetson Wright in Round 3 and Lefty Holman in Round 8.

Pookie Holler, 5 years old and 1,700 pounds, was competing at the Wrangler NFR for the first time.

The bull bucked off Ky Hamilton in Round 3 and bucked off six-time world champion Sage Kimzey in Round 8.
