Weekly Recap: Boudreaux Campbell Posts 92.5-Point Ride in San Angelo

The top rides and scores for the week of April 12-18 came from three rodeos – the San Angelo (Texas) Rodeo, the Red-Bluff (Calif.) Round-Up and the Ron Ross Memorial Steer Roping in Liberty, Texas.

Heading into the final week of the San Angelo Rodeo, bull rider Boudreaux Campbell climbed into the lead after his 92.5-point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Oyster Bayou, April 15.

That score was the third best of the 2021 season, behind only JR Stafford’s 93.5-point ride on New Frontier Rodeo’s High Expectations in Rapid City, S.D., Feb. 6 and Stetson Wright’s 93-point ride on Frontier Rodeo’s Trophy Rack at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Feb. 26.

Campbell will try and keep his momentum going when he competes in the finals of the San Angelo Rodeo, Feb. 23 at 8:30 p.m. (EDT), which will be broadcast live on The Cowboy Channel and streamed on the PRCA on Cowboy Channel Plus App.

Campbell, who has qualified for the National Finals Rodeo four years in a row, finished a career-best second in the PRCA | RAM World Standings in 2019.

Before San Angelo, Campbell was 34th in the world standings with $7,322.

Saddle bronc rider Spencer Wright had an 88-point ride on Powder River Rodeo’s Miss Valley, April 16 to win the Red Bluff Round-Up.

Breakaway roper Lari Dee Guy clocked a 2.4-second run in Red Bluff, April 17.
