Kansas City Outlaws’ Leonardo Castro Ferreira Wins PBR Stockyards Showcase at Cowtown Coliseum

Five riders have flawless nights, three Outlaws finish inside Top 10.

FORT WORTH, Texas – At the twenty-fifth iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Leonardo Castro Ferreira (Cassilandia, Brazil) outpaced the field to take home his first individual victory on American soil.

The Kansas City Outlaws’ rookie started his run with a bang, recording the best ride of the night in Round 1 atop Hayes (Jenkins Cattle Co.) for 87 points.

Now in top form, the young Brazilian burst out of the chutes in the final round on Elkins 925 (Philip Elkins) to a roaring Cowtown Coliseum crowd for 84.5 points to catapult himself to a lead he never relinquished.

For his efforts, Ferreira secured a crucial 57 Challenger Series points. He’s now ranked No. 6 in the Challenger Global standings.

Allison de Souza (Taubate, Brazil) was the second of four perfect riders, topping Shot Collar (Jenkins Cattle Co.) for 83.5 points in Round 1 before briefly taking the lead in Round 2 by riding Bet on Eights (M Rafter E Bucking Bulls) for 86.5 points.

The silver finish earned Souza a critical 48 Challenger Series points.

The next two perfect riders tied for the final spot on the podium, as newly signed Nashville Stampede rider Alan de Souza (Taubate, Brazil) and the Arizona Ridge Riders’ Chase Dougherty (Decatur, Texas) both made the horn twice.

Souza began his evening with a 76.5-point performance atop Downtown Dallas (Viducic Bucking Bulls/Sonny Butcher/Philip Elkins).

Sitting in seventh after the first round, Souza knew he needed to post a good score to move up the leaderboard. He bounded out of the chutes atop Elkins 800 (Philip Elkins) in Round 2 and posted the fourth-best ride of the night, marked 85.5 points.

Competing close to home, Dougherty was able to match Souza stride for stride.

In Round 1, the native Texan posted a 78-point ride on King (Jenkins Cattle Co) before shooting up the leaderboard to tie for third with an 84-point ride atop Elkins 601 (Philip Elkins).

Souza earned 21.5 Challenger Series points, padding his lead atop the Challenger Global standings, while Dougherty left Cowtown Coliseum with 19 points of his own.

The final perfect rider on the night was Manoelito de Souza Jr. (Itamira, Brazil).

The Brazilian cowboy began his evening by making the 8 aboard CMSR 803 (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) for 80 points in Round 1. He then completed his perfect night by riding Rodeo Blues (M Rafter E Bucking Bulls) for 79.5 points in the final round, moving him into fifth place.

For his efforts, Souza returned home with 23 Challenger Series points.

In addition to Ferreira’s victory, the Kansas City Outlaws’ Julio Cesar Marques (Tatui, Brazil) and Cassio Dias (Sao F. de Sales, Brazil) each went 1-for-2, finishing sixth and ninth, respectively.

In the bull pen, Magic Time (M Rafter E Bucking Bulls) earned the Bull of the Event title for bucking off Kaiden Loud (Kaufman, Texas) in 5.97 seconds in Round 2, marked 44.5 points.
