#InCaseYouMissedIt: Team Cooper Tires Takes Monster Energy Team Challenge Title

After five weekends of competition, the Monster Energy Team Challenge concluded with thunder in front of fans in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Team Cooper Tires took the title, Jose Vitor Leme continued his Superman act and the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour made its triumphant return to action. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

At the Monster Energy Team Challenge…

WILD CARD ROUND

TEAM ARIAT def. TEAM CAN-AM, 172.25-88.25: Team Ariat finished third overall in the Monster Energy Team Challenge, edging Team Can-Am to advance to the semifinals.

 
TEAM LAS VEGAS ties TEAM BOOT BARN, 0-0: Team Las Vegas advanced out of its 0-0 tie with Team Boot Barn based on the tiebreaker of its regular-season aggregate score, ultimately finishing in fourth place overall.

SEMIFINALS

TEAM COOPER TIRES def. TEAM ARIAT, 344.75-89: Cooper Tires made a huge statement in its second-to-last game, routing Team Ariat to earn a berth in the Championship Game.

 
TEAM PENDLETON WHISKY def. TEAM LAS VEGAS, 174.75-89.5: Team Pendleton Whisky advanced to the Championship Game behind the grit and heart of Team Captain Marco Eguchi.

 

CONSOLATION GAMES

TEAM ARIAT ties TEAM LAS VEGAS, 0-0: Team Ariat may have tied Team Las Vegas in the third-place consolation game, but earned its finish based on its regular-season record.

TEAM CAN-AM ties TEAM BOOT BARN, 0-0: Team Can-Am and Team Boot Barn rounded out the standings in fifth and sixth place, respectively, with Team Can-Am taking the advantage based on its regular-season performance.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

TEAM COOPER TIRES def. TEAM PENDLETON WHISKY, 177.25-0: With one final dominating victory, Team Cooper Tires improved to 8-0 and took home the Monster Energy Team Challenge Title.

 
Team Cooper Tires captain Jose Vitor Leme, meanwhile, went 11-for-16 to steamroll the individual competition and win the Built Ford Tough MVP title.

Young gun Mauricio Moreira got greedy in Sioux Falls, winning both the long round and the short round en route to his first career Velocity Tour victory.
