World’s Top Bull Riders Buck Into San Antonio for First Time in Nine Years

SAN ANTONIO – Returning to south Texas for the first time since the 2021 season’s stop in Del Rio as a part of the American Roots Edition, PBR’s (Professional Bull riders) Top 30 riders in the world will buck into San Antonio and the AT&T Center October 2-3.

The U.S. Border Patrol Invitational presented by Ariat is the elite tour’s first stop in San Antonio in nine years. Tickets for the PBR Unleash The Beast tour’s visit to the home of the Alamo are available starting Friday, June 25 at 10 a.m. CT. Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased at, and, or by phone by calling 800-732-1727.

During PBR’s last visit in 2012, Fabiano Vieira (Perola, Brazil) hoisted the championship buckle after a perfect 4-for-4 performance, highlighted by a 91-point trip aboard Meat Hook (Bar 3D Bucking Bulls) in the championship round to lock in a $48,000 payday. Previous winners to walk the famous Riverwalk also include two-time World Champion J.B. Mauney (Statesville, North Carolina), Cody Nance (Paris, Tennessee), and Shane Proctor (Grand Coulee, Washington).

The adrenaline-pumping action begins with Round 1 at 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, where all riders will attempt one bull a piece. Round 2 and the championship round will start at 1:45 p.m. CT on Sunday. The Top 12 aggregate scorers from Rounds 1 and 2 will move on to the championship round and a chance at the event title.

Fans can upgrade their ticket purchase for any night by selecting the “Elite Experience” add-on for $75. This elevated experience includes a $10 concession voucher, a question-and-answer presentation with some of the top bull riders and stock contractors in the world, souvenir credential, and lanyard.

The 2021 PBR UTB season consists of 26 stops, bringing the toughest athletes on Earth to Kansas City, Sacramento, Detroit, Ft. Worth, and many more. The season culminates with the PBR World Finals at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, November 3-7. The 2021 PBR World Champion – the bull rider who earns the most world standings points during the season – will receive the coveted gold World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.
