The Wright family’s ranch and rodeo history was well chronicled in a 2018 book entitled ‘The Last Cowboys’ and they’ve added a new chapter already this year with a one-two finish in the saddle bronc riding competition at the National Western in Denver on Sunday. The championship round featured the top twelve riders and four of them were Wrights who are the pride of Milford, Utah. All told they pocketed more than $16,000 from the Mile High City. Spencer Wright won Denver and his nephew Rusty placed second. A raucous Denver Coliseum crowd enjoyed every second especially Rusty’s 90-point championship round winning spur out that ended in old school fanning fashion. Spencer Wright earned his first National Western buckle. Courtesy of Wrangler Network contributor Charlie Coon.
