PRCA for the Record: Greeley (Colo.) Stampede

The Greeley Stampede is one of the premiere rodeos in the state of Colorado each year. That will be no different in 2021.

There will be another star-studded lineup of athletes headed to the northern Colorado town, 90 minutes from Denver.

The group will include Greeley Stampede team roping record holder Caleb Anderson. The Mocksville, N.C., cowboy teamed up with Cory Kidd V in 2018 for a 4.1-second run to move into the top spot in the record books.

“At the time of the run I didn’t even know that was a record until they said something about it to us,” Anderson said. “It had to be a pretty good steer and it just worked for us.”

Anderson will be looking for an even better time in Greeley this year. He is scheduled to rope with header Wyatt Imus in the slack June 28.

“This time of year, if you can get on a roll and get some good steers you can really make a run in the standings,” Anderson said. “I’m just happy we have the opportunity to be rodeoing and I’m thankful for that.”

The Greeley Stampede will be broadcast live on the Cowboy Channel and streamed on the PRCA on Cowboy Channel Plus app June 25-27.
