PRCA Standings Shuffle: Nine Move up in Top 15

The first ProRodeo competition since the COVID-19 pandemic put everything on pause in mid-March provided a boost within the Top 15 of the 2020 PRCA | RAM World Standings for nine cowboys who competed at Cave Creek (Ariz.) Rodeo Days, May 22-24.

The biggest shakeup came within the Top 15 of the steer roping world standings. Landon McClaugherty moved from third to second, Cole Patterson from eighth to fifth, Cody Lee from 17th to ninth and Garrett Hale from 13th to 10th.

Steer wrestlers Bridger Anderson and Stetson Jorgensen climbed the ranks from 12th to 10th and from 15th to 13th, respectively.

Bull rider Colten Fritzlan moved from 16th to 15th.

Cowboys on the bubble for a spot in the Top 15 can find themselves a few dollars short of qualifying for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and the Clem McSpadden National Finals Steer Roping. There are plenty of opportunities to win between now and the end of the 2020 season, so it’s noteworthy to see who is on the cusp of breaking into the Top 15.

Rusty Wright moved from 17th to 16th in saddle bronc riding and is $2,258 away from breaking into the Top 15.

Bigger changes are likely to happen in the world standings this week at the PRCA Kick Open The Chutes Super Series Finish as cowboys could gain a $9,000 boost in the world standings if they make a clean sweep in Fort Worth, Texas.

Fans can catch the action live on The Cowboy Channel and with the PRCA on Cowboy Channel Plus app. Broadcasts are scheduled for May 29 at 8 p.m. (ET); May 30-31 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Repeat airings are scheduled for midnight each night.

Check back with ProRodeo.com next week to see who moved up within the Top 15 of the world standings.
