Action-Packed Weekend Leading Up to the Reno Rodeo

RENO, Nev. – In just a few short weeks the Reno Rodeo returns to the Biggest Little City, but fans don’t have to wait until June 17 to dust off their boots. This weekend will kick off a month full of celebrations fit for the “Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West.”

Charitable Golf Tournament – June 5 (SOLD OUT)
Swing into the rodeo at the annual charitable golf tournament Saturday, June 5 at Washoe Golf Course. This fun four-man scramble helps support the Reno Rodeo Foundation’s programs for children and families in the community. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start promptly at 8 a.m. A barbeque lunch will be prepared by former Reno Rodeo presidents and served by the Reno Rodeo Flag Girls.

Reno Rodeo Kickoff Party – June 5
Why wait to celebrate at the rodeo when you can get back in the saddle and party alongside fellow rodeo fans? Starting at 6 p.m. at Bighorn Tavern, the free Kickoff Party will feature drink specials, live music, giveaways and a raffle with prizes like concert tickets to see Kip Moore and Travis Denning and tickets to the 2021 Reno Rodeo.

Cowboy Truck Show – June 6
Check out what cowboys ride when they’re not on a horse or bull at the annual Reno Rodeo Cowboy Truck Show, Sunday, June 6, 1–4 p.m. For a $10 registration fee, or $15 at the gate, the biggest, baddest, dirtiest trucks in town convene at Bonanza Casino. The free event is open to the public and all types of trucks are invited to register, whether old, new, funky or just plain cool. Grab a cold brew in the beer garden and some food truck fare while checking out the trucks. Registration and parking start at 11 a.m.

About the Reno Rodeo
The Reno Rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctioned sporting event, and one of the top rodeos in North America. Reno Rodeo is a non-profit organization made up of over 500 volunteers. This year’s Reno Rodeo is scheduled for June 17-26, 2021. Competition includes bareback, team roping, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, women’s barrel racing, women’s breakaway roping and bull riding.
