Fun Facts about Cole: He set a goal this year “to do more at less rodeos,” which worked really well until it didn’t. He had been taking time between rodeos to let his body recover. And he spent more time preparing for the summer rodeos. The plan was in place. He finished second at Reno, and had a good “Cowboy Christmas” run. Then his game went from good to great. In the span of about two weeks, he won nearly $35,000 and was sitting fourth in the world standings. After that his plan got set on the back burner because of a knee injury. He watched as his name slipped down in the standings. Thankfully his injury didn’t require surgery, he got back on some bucking horses at the end of the regular season and is already working on the 2024 season. Cole had two big wins in the state of Wyoming this year, a rodeo that he considers his hometown, Sheridan WYO Rodeo, and then he tied for the win at the legendary Cheyenne Frontier Days. It was the first time in nearly two decades that a Wyoming cowboy had earned the title. Because Cole’s plan worked early in the summer, he had earned enough money to stay in the top 15 and is now headed to his fourth Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
