He grew up in town but did cowboy stuff on school holidays at a ranch about three hours from MacKay, Queensland that his dad’s family has. He came to the U.S. for the National Junior High School Finals Rodeo and later was recruited by college rodeo coach C.J. Aragon, first at Odessa (Texas) College and then to Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Ky is working towards his bachelor’s degree and currently leads the Southwest Region in the college rodeo standings. He hasn’t been home since he came here two years ago. He has found a second family with Cody and Leanne Lambert in Bowie, Texas.
