Fun Facts about Tanner: Last year, he finished the regular season in the final spot and had to sweat out the last few days of the season. He was in a similar situation this year, but was outside the top 15 and was making other bronc riders sweat. Being 18th in the world before the Governor’s Cup, Tanner had nothing to lose when he got to Sioux Falls. He didn’t win anything in the preliminary rounds, but was consistent to make it to the finals where a Wyoming bucking horse took the Wyoming cowboy to an 86.5-point ride. The horse was Miss Valley of Powder River Rodeo company and the $19,000 Tanner earned on her vaulted him to 11th in the world. Last June, his whole family spent a weekend branding calves, then watched as he and Sydney said “I do.”
