Fun Facts about Tegan: He comes from a family of rodeo competitors and when he first started he thought he wanted to ride bulls. Never one to back down from a challenge, he started getting on saddle broncs. It took him some time to learn, but three years after joining the PRCA he is headed to his first WNFR. Tegan’s cousin Riggin Smith also rides saddle broncs. They were at school together at Clarendon College with coach WNFR qualifier Bret Franks. Riggin won the College National Finals Rodeo, Tegan finished third and the men’s team was at the top of the standings in 2019. He travels with fellow Iowan, Wade Sundell who also qualified for the 2021 WNFR.
