Fun Facts about Stockton: He has won the steer wrestling at the San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo twice. The first time was in 2011 and that happens to be the last time that he has competed at the WNFR. Not only did Stockton go to as many pro rodeos as any other steer wrestler, as the rodeo coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University NWOSU, he also went to college rodeos to work with the rising stars of rodeo. Jacob Edler, the 2021 world champion is one of the steer wrestlers that competed for NWOSU under Stockton. So did Bridger Anderson who qualified for last year’s WNFR and while Stockton wasn’t competing he made 10 runs as the hazer for Bridger at the world championship competition. Another of his student-athletes, Cody Devers, will be competing against him this year. Stockton and his wife, Crissi have a daughter, Sequin, and son Augustus. He graduated from NWOSU with a degree in agricultural business and has been coaching there for 10 years.
