Fun Facts about Douglas: He is the first Illinois resident to qualify for the WNFR in the team roping and is only the second to ever compete. Mike Moore from Kankakee qualified in bull riding 4 times. The only other Illinois resident listed in PRCA records is steer wrestler Harold Cox who finished 11th in 1953, six years before the first WNFR. Douglas will be roping with the youngest of this year’s competitors, Coy Rahlmann from Missouri. It took an extreme amount of dedication and understanding for him to get to Las Vegas. He was at the rodeo in Pendleton, Oregon and as if trying to be among the top 15 wasn’t enough pressure he got a phone call telling him his father had unexpectedly passed away. When he thought about what his father would want him to do, he headed on to Salinas where they won $11,606 to secure their first WNFR qualification.
