Fun Facts about Westyn: He started off the new year with a big win at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. It was an emotional win for him as the previous year, he left the Dickies Arena and was on the injured list. Westyn had a hip that had been bothering him the last time he competed at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, in 2021. He started that competition in second place and fell to sixth. So after Fort Worth he had surgery on his hip, put in the work, and returned to action the first part of July. In spite of missing four months, he finished 18th last year. Through that he has learned to make the most of his runs and will start this year in sixth. Westyn first started roping when he was five years old and while he has tried other rodeo events, his passion is tie-down roping.
