Fun Facts about Erin: A year ago, Erin barely qualified for the NFBR, edging into the 15th spot. This year, with more rodeos including breakaway and more opportunities, she made a commitment that will see her starting the competition in Las Vegas in third place. Growing up on a ranch in eastern Colorado saw Erin participating in 4-H showing cattle and horses. Her husband, Darnell, is a tie-down roper and they go to rodeos together every chance they get. They also are the proud parents of son, Denton and daughters, Evin and Annie that they are passing their love of rodeo and agriculture on to. Erin’s horse Husker Be Smokin, “Chico” finished third as the top breakaway horse of 2021. Erin didn’t start roping competitively until she was in college at Chadron State College in Nebraska. She took her horses with her, started spending time with the rodeo ream and is now among the most successful breakaway ropers in the world.
