Fun Facts about Katie: On 10 different occasions, Katie has watched her brother, Steven Dent, compete on rodeo’s biggest stage. Ranch-raised and a natural athlete she was inducted into the Hastings College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 for her success on the basketball court. She also competed in volleyball, and track and field. After college, she spent some time teaching and coaching basketball in Newcastle, Wyoming. Then she came back to the Nebraska Sandhills to teach at Valentine. Roping took a backseat until 2015 and the mom of two has been looking forward ever since. She is married to Joe Mundorf who comes from a stock contracting family. They are full-time ranchers near both of their families. Katie started roping competitively to prepare a horse for their daughter, Abbigail, and the horse really took to breakaway. Abbigail is six, so when she is ready, she will have the benefit of a well-seasoned horse to rodeo or ranch on.
