Fun Facts about Martha: She led the competition a year ago coming into the NFBR and left in the same spot. This year she starts in third place with her sister, Sarah one spot behind her. The girls grew up in Virginia and made a decision to move to Texas where the competition would be tougher and more plentiful. They both also team rope. When she first moved to Texas, Martha worked as a bartender so she could pay her bills. Now, she is making a living roping and has the gold buckle to prove that she belongs in the rodeo arena. She first learned to rope from her dad, Vito, who passed away in 2016. She’s improved on those skills and is now using her knowledge to teach breakaway roping clinics.
