Fun Facts about Taylor: One year ago, she qualified for the WNFBR in the final spot and this year she has moved up 10 spots to fifth. That qualification a year ago made history for Taylor as she became the first woman to qualify for rodeo’s championships in two events – she went to Las Vegas in the barrel racing in 2013 and 2015. She has been back to the Thomas and Mack many times as a spectator supporting her boyfriend and now husband, Shane Hanchey. Shane has been very influential in her professional barrel racing helping to keep her mounted. Her main horse, Pam Pam is a nine-year-old mare that Shane had success on in the tie-down roping. Taylor’s traveling partner got on the sorrel at the Horse Heaven Round-Up in Kennewick, Washington and won the rodeo on Pam Pam. It was the second championship that the mare had won there. Shane got the tie-down roping title on her in 2019. Taylor won the Gooding (Idaho) Pro Rodeo a year ago to help her qualify for the WNFBR and did the same again this year. And she was the high-money earner both times. After she competes at the WNFBR, she will spend ten nights supporting her husband as he competes for his second world title.
