Powder River Rodeo Company Mourns the Loss of Lipstick N Whiskey

Courtesy of Wrangler Network contributor Charlie Coon

Powder River Rodeo Company based near Riverton, Wyoming is mourning the loss of a treasured member of their highly-respected bucking horse herd after the sudden death of 13-year- old "Lipstick N Whiskey" last weekend. She carried many saddle bronc riders to victories with the Wright family from Milford, UT the most celebrated winners. Ryder Wright and his father Cody each won a round at the 2016 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo on the mare and she took Rusty Wright to a WNFR third-round win exactly one year before his brother Ryder.

Hank and Lori Franzen along with son John, who named Lipstick N Whiskey, are the saddened owners of Powder River Rodeo but they are very proud of the horse's accomplishments which include five trips to the national finals.

We have Ryder Wright's Vegas win from last December – courtesy of CBS Sports Network and the PRCA – and a visit with Lori Franzen who says Lipstick N Whiskey was about a week from giving birth but most likely died of an internal hemorrhage.
