ARLINGTON, Texas – Three-time Professional Bull Riders (PBR) World Champion Silvano Alves added another title to his career after winning THE AMERICAN bull riding event at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night.

With only three qualified rides in the first round of the bull riding event, Alves advanced to the Final 4 Shoot Out Round because of his rank in the 2014 PBR World Standings. The Brazilian earned an 88.25-point ride on Raven Flyer (J.A.R.S. Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen) in the Shoot Out for the win.

J.W. Harris, the 2014 PBR Rookie of the Year, entered the Shoot Out in the top spot, after posting the only 90-plus-point ride in the bull riding event with 90.50 points on Who Dey (K-C Bucking Bulls) in the first round. Jason Malone placed second in Round 1 by covering Margy Time for 85 points, while Cody Nance was the only other rider to make the 8-second buzzer in Round 1 with an 83.75-point effort on Wicked (J.A.R.S. Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen).

With Harris, Malone and Nance all bucking off their bulls during the Shoot Out, Alves was the only rider with a qualified ride and captured the $100,000 event title.

THE AMERICAN offers event qualifiers an opportunity to win a share of a $1 million bonus if they win their event outright. Bareback rider Taylor Price and tie-down roper Reese Riemer were qualifiers in their events and came away the winners on Sunday, pocketing not only $100,000 for winning their events, but also $500,000 each, splitting the $1 million bonus.
