Breding Wins Velocity Tour Event in Pendleton

PENDLETON, Ore – Parker Breding went 2-for-2 to win the second night and the overall title of Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour Banner Bank Pendleton PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Classic Tuesday night at the Happy Canyon Arena.

Breding started the night off with an 88.5-point ride on Pistol Whipped (Howell Rodeo Company Inc) in the opening round before going on to win the championship round with an 88.5-point ride on Blackberry Smoke (New West Rodeos). Breding will be walking away with 80 points toward the world standings and $13,523.16.

The event was broken down into two separate long and championship rounds and the winner of the event was the rider with the highest two-score aggregate score from either Friday or Saturday. In this case, Tuesday night’s top riders ended up scoring higher overall points than any from Monday night.

Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao Dos Indios, Brazil) finished in second place after scoring 87 points aboard Devil in Disguise (New West Rodeos) in Round 1 followed by an 84.5-point ride aback Guitar Town (Howell Rodeo Company Inc) in the championship round. His aggregate score of 171.5 was higher than his 84-point aggregate score from night one. His Tuesday night performance earned him 50 points toward the world standings and a check for $7,083.56.

Third place went to Derek Kolbaba (Walla Walla, WA) after starting the night with an 84.5-point ride on Cosmo Cowboy (Howell Rodeo Company Inc) in Round 1. The world champion contender then covered Percolator (Sankey/Robinson) for 86.5 points in the championship round. The 21-year-old racked up 30 points toward the world standings along with $4,869.95

Luciano de Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) earned a fourth-place finish after an 84-point ride atop Fast Cars (Sankey/Robinson) in Round 1, followed by an 85-point-ride on Broken Spoke (Four Star Rodeo) in the championship round. The Brazilian earned 20 world points and $3,139.31.

Alex Marcilio (Macaubal, Brazil) rounded the Top 5 after covering Little Hummer (Sankey/Robinson) for 81 points in Round 1 before earning 87.5 points on Humdinger (Sankey/Robinson) in the short round. The 29-year-old earned 15 points towards the world standings and a check for $3,783.27.

The Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will next head to Allentown, Pennsylvania, for the Allentown Classic Presented by Frontier Communications on September 16 at the PPL Center.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
