Davis Takes Round 1 in Uvalde

UVALDE, Texas – Experience was on full display in Round 1 of the Cactus Jack PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Bull Riding Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) event Friday night.

Cooper Davis, Joao Ricardo Vieira, Kaique Pacheco and Bryan Titman are all in the mix for a potential Velocity Tour victory this weekend following qualified rides in Round 1.

Davis is currently in the lead after an 87-point ride on J Lazy. The 2016 World Champion has been blazing his way through the season and is currently ranked No. 9 in the world standings.

A victory in Uvalde could potentially push the defending champ to No. 7 in the world standings.

Vieira is sitting in second place after covering Curley Bill for 85.5 points. The perennial world title contender has begun to heat up recently with Top-5 finishes in five of his last six PBR events.

Pacheco and Titman tied for third place with 85-point rides. Pacheco – the No. 2 bull rider in the world standings – rode Johnny Cash.

Titman is currently ranked No. 110 in world standings, but he is no stranger to top competition. He competed in 13 Build Ford Tough Series events in 2015 before an arm injury set him back and cost him a chance at qualifying for the 2015 Built Ford Tough World Finals.

Claudio Montanha Jr. and Derek Kolbaba are each sitting in fifth place in Uvalde. Montanha earned 84 points on the back of Ross Raglin and Kolbaba earned the same score after covering Red Diamond.

There were a total of 15 qualified rides in Round 1.

World leader Eduardo Aparecido is competing in Uvalde and is sitting in 13^th-place with 70.5 points on Mind Freak.

Round 2 begins Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. CT.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
