Duncan Wins PBR BlueDEF Velocity Event in Cleveland

PUEBLO, Colo. – Douglas Duncan (Alvin, Texas) capitalized off of his chance to earn his way back to the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) level with a win at the BlueDEF Velocity Tour (BDVT) event in Cleveland on Sept. 19.

With the victory Duncan earned 80 points towards the PBR World Standings and moved from 38th to 35th in the standings. He used an 85-point ride in Round 1 and an 86.5-point ride in the championship to total 171.5 points as he earned $6,400.00.

Keyshawn Whitehorse (The Woodlands, Texas) finished in second place, earning 50 world points. He had ride scores of 81.5 points along with an event-high 89 points to earn him $4,700.00.

Luis Blanco (Icanga, Brazil) was third with 167.5 total points with rides of 81 and 86.5 points. He tallied 30 world points along with $2,850.00.

Fourth place went to Jordan Hupp (Stephenville, Texas) as he rode to 84 points in Round 1 and 79 points in the championship round for 20 world points and $1,850.00.

Jay Miller (Liberty, South Carolina) took fifth place with his 86-point ride in Round 1. He took home $2,040.00 and earned 15 world points.

The BDVT will next be in action with the BlueDEF Velocity Tour Finals in Louisville, Kentucky, on Oct. 9-10.

At the BDVT Finals, the Top 10 athletes on the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), the major leagues of the PBR, will compete in Louisville, taking on the Top 30 of the sport’s up-and-coming stars on the BDVT and the PBR’s international invites from Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. The BlueDEF Finals will be the last chance to gain the valuable points needed to qualify for the prestigious $2.3 million PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals that will takes place in Las Vegas on Nov. 2-6, 2016. The best of the world’s best will be on the road to Las Vegas and it goes through the BDVT Finals.
