Pacheco Wins Round 1 in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Opening the first of three nights in Springfield, Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) won Round 1 of The 25^th PBR: Unleash The Beast, PFIWestern.com Invitational, presented by Bass Pro Shops, Friday night at JQH Arena.

Pacheco claimed the victory atop Uncle Gangster (Hart Cattle Co/Clapp Cattle) for 91 points. The No. 1 ranked bull rider in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) world standings earned 100 world points and $3,632.86. He increased his lead over world No. 2 Claudio Montanha Jr. (Sao Paulo, Brazil) to more than 246 points.

Eduardo Aparecido (Gouvelandia, Brazil) brought the Missouri crowd to its feet with his impressive 89.75-point ride aboard Lil 2 Train (Braindead Cattle Company/ Hilton Bull Co). For his second-place round finish Aparecido won $2,802.86 and 60 world points, holding his position at No. 10 in the world standings.

Prior to his third-place finish, Matt Triplett (Columbia Falls, Montana) held the No. 36 spot in the world standings. He walked away from Round 1 at No. 35 after riding Pick-It Construction’s Find Jesus (Ogden Ranch / Hart Cattle Co) for 89 points. Triplett earned $2,052.86 and 50 world points.

Alisson De Souza (Taunate, Brazil) finished in fourth place aboard Clover Mountain Beau (J&C Cattle Company / Gene Owen). His 86.5-point ride earned him $1,352.86 and 40 world points.

Rounding out the Top 5 was two-time PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney(Statesville, North Carolina), who turned in an 86-point ride on Kid Fletcher(Henry Wilson) to take home an $902.86 paycheck and 30 world points. The Round 1 finish moved him from No. 39 in the world standings to No. 38.

Jokers Wild (01 Cattle Co/Robbie Schroeder) is currently in the lead with a 90-point performance after the first day of the ABBI Classic event in Springfield. Concealed Carry (Rockin R Bucking Bulls/Jerry Rush) is not far behind in second place with 89.8 points, while Uncle Gangster (Hart Cattle/Clapp Cattle) posted 89 points to take third place. Big Black (K-C Bucking Bulls/Joe & Nina Webb) and Lil 2 Train (Braindead Cattle Co/Hilton Bull Co) round out the Top 5 of the Classic event with 88.2 points apiece.

The last of the ABBI Classic bulls will buck Saturday during Round 2, alongside the Maturity event bulls.

The best bull riders in the world will return to the JQH Arena on Saturday, September 8 for Round 2 of the PFIWestern.com Invitational, presented by Bass Pro Shops.
