Lowe Wins in Decatur

DECATUR, Texas. – Mason Lowe (Exeter, Missouri), earned the buckle at the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) J.W. Hart PBR Challenge at the Wise County Fairgrounds Saturday night.

The 23-year-old picked up the win after scoring 86 points aboard Blue (Hodges Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and an 87-point ride on Bullrito (Flying S Bucking Bulls.) in the championship round. Lowe was the only rider to reach 8 seconds in both rounds and will be going home with 80 world points and $7,628. He also moved up to No. 11 in the world standings.

Brandon Davis (Cabot, Arkansas) finished second after bucking off Yeti’s Ice Breaker (Cord McCoy/Kevin Graber) in Round 1 but covering Swamp Wreck (01 Cattle Co. / D&H Cattle Co.) in Round 2 for 88.5 points. Davis is walking away from the weekend with 50 points toward the world standings and $5,416.00.

In third place was Cody Teel (Kountze, Texas) who tied for first in Round 1 after riding The Communicator (Sellers Bucking Bulls / UTC Ranch) for 86 points before being bucked off by Right Turn Clyde (Flying S Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. Teel earned 30 points toward the world standings and will be taking home a check for $3,359.

Lindomar Lino finished in fourth place after scoring 84 points on the back of Flyin’ Right (01 Cattle Co. / D&H Cattle Co.) in Round 1 then bucking off Great Falls (D&H Cattle Company) in Round 2. Lino earned $ 2,176 and 20 points towards world standings.

Taylor Toves (Stephenville, Texas) finished in fifth, earning $1,292 and 15 points toward the world s­tandings. Toves rode Whacked Out (Todd Bausch/Curtis Leschyshyn/9A Ranch) in Round 1 for 82 points before eventually bucking off Pick-It Construction’s Find Jesus (Ogden Ranch/Hart Cattle Co.) in the championship round.

The annual J.W. Hart PBR Challenge will celebrate a monumental achievement this year by surpassing the $1 million mark in charitable donations. Over the last 13 years, the J.W. Hart PBR Challenge – the first non-Built Ford Tough Series event to operate as a non-profit – and WC Challenger Charities have donated $957,100 directly to 50 organizations.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
