Australia’s Andersen Wins PBR Stockyards Showcase at Cowtown Coliseum

FORT WORTH, Texas – At the twenty-sixth iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Qynn Andersen (Koumala, Australia) was the only rider to go a perfect 2-for-2 to be crowned the event’s champion.

Andersen began his evening by shooting to an early lead with an 85.5-point ride on Eyes On Me (JD Nix Rodeo Co) in Round 1, the only qualified ride in the opening round.

Knowing he had an opportunity to retake the top spot and win his first PBR event on American soil, the young cowboy locked in for the final round. He burst out of the chutes atop Wound Up (Melton Bull Co) and made the horn for 87.5 points to catapult atop the leaderboard.

The Australian’s perfect performance earned him a critical 59 Challenger Series points.

Wellington Ferreira (Ribeirao so Sul, Brazil) recorded the highest-marked ride of the evening in the second round, sitting tall on Monster in Paris (4L & Diamond S Rodeo Company) for an impressive 88 points.

His second-place finish earned the Brazilian a crucial 36 Challenger Series points.

The last rider to make the 8 was Zek Martinez (USA).

Coming off a victory in his first ever PBR event in Goliad, Texas, last weekend, the young cowboy was bucked off by Hateful (JD Nix Rodeo Co.) in 5.81 seconds in Round 1.

Proving his mettle, Martinez rallied and covered Big R (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) for 83.5 points in the final round.

Martinez left Cowtown Coliseum with 22 Challenger Series points.

In the bull pen, Bison (JD Nix Rodeo Co.) earned the Bull of the Event title for bucking off Thomas Hudson (Dungog, Australia) in 2.55 seconds in Round 1, marked 44.5 points.
