Introducing the 2022 Calgary Stampede Princess – Jenna Peters!
Calgary – Following an intense three-week contest, the Calgary Stampede is pleased to announce that the 2022 Calgary Stampede Princess has been crowned. Please join us in welcoming 24-year-old Jenna Peters, a skilled and accomplished young woman who will now have the opportunity to share her passion for our city and the Calgary Stampede with the world. Peters shone in an extremely tight field of talented competitors as they showcased their skills in a series of events that included public speaking, horsemanship and personal interviews.
“It feels amazing. It’s been a long journey and I feel honoured to be recognized amongst this incredible group of women that I competed with,” Peters said after the crowning ceremony, adding, “I’m very much looking forward to the months ahead!”
Jenna Peters works in the energy industry and in her spare time enjoys competing in Cowboy Challenge events, trail riding, volleyball, hiking and fishing. As a former Stampede Showrider, Peters feels that her involvement in the Calgary Stampede as a youth helped shape her into who she is today. She is excited to inspire others through her role as the 2022 Stampede Princess and feels this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Peters joins her counterpart, newly crowned First Nations Princess, Sikapinakii Low Horn, as the 2022 Stampede Royalty. Together, they will attend hundreds of events as ambassadors of the Stampede, sharing and celebrating the Stampede’s western heritage, cultures and community spirit locally – and around the world. In these roles, the Royalty not only serve their community, but also benefit from professional and personal development. They receive support, guidance, expert coaching and mentorship from their dedicated committees.

We look forward to watching her learn and grow while representing the Calgary Stampede,” says Chris Gerritsen, Chair, Calgary Stampede Royalty Committee. “The Royalty Committee thanks all the competitors who stepped forward and worked hard to compete for the title, all our judges who gave their time and talent to adjudicate the competition, and our committee who are tireless in their commitment to this vital element of Stampede.”
The crowning of the 2022 Calgary Stampede Princess took place Wednesday evening, during a private event at Stampede Park where 2020/2021 Stampede Queen Kelcey Moore and Princess Janelle Mackenzie passed along the crown to Jenna Peters. The Calgary Stampede and the Stampede Royalty Committee would like to thank Moore and Mackenzie for their incredible ambassadorship throughout their unique reign. These two strong, talented young women faced every experience over the past two years with incredible grace and poise, and we wish them the best in their future endeavours.
