Celebrating the Dads of the PBR on Father’s Day

By: Darci Miller

They say that dads are the closest thing we have to real-life superheroes, and the PBR is full of them. From bull riders and bullfighters to broadcasters and entertainers, the PBR is made up of both dedicated fathers and sons who relied on their dads to help them get to where they are today.

Amidst the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge, presented by U.S. Border Patrol, the PBR community took to social media to appreciate the dads in their lives.

Happy Fathers to all the Dads our there! I’ve been blessed with some of the best Dads myself and wanted to share some love💚 JW wrote this last week to share with the kids during Rodeo Bible Camp in Berryville, Ar. It sure fits for a Daddy to!!! So I thought I would share It Takes Effort🌵 It doesn’t matter what we are doin, IT TAKES EFFORT. Doesn’t matter if it’s eatin breakfast, Talkin on the phone, reading a book, Or ridin bulls, IT TAKES EFFORT!!! It also takes effort to be a Christian. We have to put the effort out to be a better Christian and the more effort we put in to god and our walk with him the better results we will experience!!! The more effort we put out when that gate opens the better the results we we will experience !!! But there’s a catch !!! We can’t just put out 100% effort when the gate opens and experience that success. We can’t just put out 100% effort when we wanna experience the best god has for us. That’s where practice comes in. We have to practice our walk with god. We have to practice Ropin calves. We have to practice ridin bulls. All the while puttin out 100% effort. We don’t have to be in a practice pen to be practicing ropin or ridin, (though it’s the best place to practice) if it’s on our mind and thinking about how to do it right we are practicing bein a better bull rider. We don’t have to be in church house to be practicing (though it’s the best place) if god is on our mind, we are practicing bein better Christian!!! It takes effort to practice!! But the more we practice the easier it gets. The easier it gets, the more natural it becomes. And when thing become natural, The better the results!!!

Happy Father’s Day Ty! Kase & Oakley are so lucky to be able to call you Dad & Dada! You are such a wonderful, involved Father and have so much grace with the kids. You let them be who they are and find their own way. I’ve seen you play make believe a million times with Kase & I’m sure it’s coming with Oakley haha. I’m so thankful Oakley has you as her Daddy. She loves you so much & you protect her, love her and show her so many fun, exciting things in life (even if she gives you more gray hair haha)! You’ve never missed a moment to spend as much time with Kase as you can. You’ve never missed a time of picking him up & taking him to the airport, traveling to him, FaceTiming, rearranging and organizing time & schedules to make sure you don’t miss a moment, taking us to PBR’s with you…all these little things show the huge heart and love you have for your kids! You teach them such amazing values such a being true to your word, honesty, appreciation & you explain why instead of just doing. You set an example! You set an amazing example of what a loving husband should be! Just like you gave 100% in your rodeo career, then horsemanship, you give 100% to bring the best Dad even when it feels overwhelming 😂 Just so you know feeling overwhelmed is because you’re a super hands on Dad. We will never regret spending one moment of time with the kids who grow so fast! The last few photos are just because I think you’re the hottest Dad ever & appreciate you being a “Dad” to my cats & other animals!!

Think of this… Father’s Day is a day set aside for special moments and being with family as the most precious gift we have in this lifetime. Dad’s have taught us so many important things such as: 🗣 Honesty is not just about telling the truth. It’s about being real with yourself and others about who you are, what you want and what you need to live your most authentic life. Honesty promotes openness, empowers us and enables us to develop consistency in how we present the facts. 🙌🏼 Manners can never been overdone. If you are in the habit of using good manners all the time, you won’t have to worry about whether or not you’re doing or saying the right thing. It will come naturally to you, and others will respect you more for it. 🤝 When you shake a man’s hand always make sure and look him in the eye. 🧠 One must continually learn to be successful. “Keep learning; don’t be arrogant by assuming that you know it all, that you have a monopoly on the truth; always assume that you can learn something from someone else.” – Jack Welch 🔑 Becoming independent comes with great responsibility. Never lose sight of it and never feel you are too old to ask for guidance or help. What have you learned from your father? Shot for @purewestchristies
