Fun Facts about Tanner: Tanner won the 2020 Resistol Rookie of the Year as the best team roping header in their first full year of competition. It was a true test of his goals as rodeos were being cancelled and changed left and right. The next year, world champion heeler Patrick Smith took him under his wing. They finished inside the top 35 in the world standings and qualified for winter’s building rodeos. This year has been a year of growth for Tanner. They have won some big checks but had some inconsistencies as well. The first of August he was 12th and the WNFR was in sight. One month later, he had moved to seventh and now will start his first WNFR in fifth place as the youngest player on the field.
