Fun Facts about John: His success in the rodeo arena started as a youngster. He grew up in a rodeo family and won the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in 2012. This is his third consecutive Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualification. He has a love of the game that has been passed down from his family and has grown with support from an extended family that includes Joe and Jenna Beaver. This year’s qualification came down to the wire and was secured through the help of a new four-legged partner. John bought a new horse “Pistol,” that was trained by NFR qualifier Randall Carlisle. Pistol’s first rodeo was in Dodge City where they earned $10,680 and third. A month later they got the win at Ellensburg, Washington, and now they will be headed to Las Vegas. John is hoping that Pistol is firing in the Thomas and Mack Arena and that he makes a substantial move up in the standings.
