Fun Facts about JJ: No one has dreamed of breakaway roping being this popular more than JJ Hampton. She comes from a roping and competitive family and has been a fan at the WNFR eight times watching her nephew Marty Yates in the tie-down roping. JJ has always been an advocate for women in rodeo. She remembers the days of getting 9 or 10 breakaway ropers and not only is she excited to be participating in the event’s growth, she is very grateful. She has a real estate business that keeps her occupied during the days. She practices every chance she gets but her main priority is her family. She and Marty have sold team t-shirts supporting their teams and all of the proceeds go to Backpack Buddies of Erath County.
