Meet the Next Generation: Laramie Winners

Courtesy of Wrangler Network contributor Charlie Coon

Pairs of cowboy brothers, one by blood the other a tight bond of friendship, roped and rode their way to the top at the spring season opener for the Wyoming High School Rodeo Association, April 7-9, in Laramie.

Casper team ropers Kellan and Carson Johnson were reserve national champs last year and look to be right in time for another run at a title both in Wyoming and nationally. Their father Jhett won a world champion’s gold buckle heeling in 2011. He and Kellan will be a team roping tandem this summer on the PRCA rodeo trail.

Johnson County, WY bareback riders Cole Reiner and Dylan Sandvick matched at 64 points to share #1 on Sunday in Laramie. Dylan’s dad Larry was a pro who made the big show in Vegas a dozen times.
