2018 “Doc” Gardner Memorial Rodeo Set for April 26-28

Don’t miss a second of some of the best action in college rodeo, as the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo Team hosts their hometown college rodeo next weekend, April 26-28.

Goodwell, Okla. — Don’t miss a second of some of the best action in college rodeo, as the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo Team hosts their hometown college rodeo next weekend, April 26-28. Come out to the Henry C. Hitch Pioneer Arena in Guymon on Thursday and Friday night at 7p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Several Aggies will be battling for a spot as a College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) qualifier. The top two men’s and women’s teams will qualify for the CNFR as well as the top three finishers in each individual event.

In the Central Plains Region Standings, the men’s team is currently leading the team standings and the women’s team is third. Senior Will Martin has a commanding lead for Panhandle State in the men’s all-around. Fellow Australians and teammates Jake Finlay and Dawson Dahm are sitting first and second in the saddle bronc riding with seven of the top ten in the same event calling Goodwell home. Martin and Dylan Riggins hold the one and two positions in the bareback riding while senior Callum Miller holds the third place spot in the bull riding.

On the women’s side of things, Spring Hill, Kan. native Caitlyn Wiswell is sitting in the third place spot in the breakaway roping and teammate Kaylee Smith from Jay Em, Wyo. has the second place spot in the goat tying currently. Don’t miss the opportunity to cheer the team on in Guymon. Tickets can be purchased at the gate and are $10 per performance or $20 for all three performances. Children 12 and under get in free.
