Reno Rodeo Day Eight Results

RENO, Nev. – The grandstands were speckled with varying shades of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The brighter the pink, the tougher the cowboy or cowgirl!

The evening kicked off with an exhilarating round of bareback. Zach Brown of Red Bluff, Calif. took the best score of 81. Steven Peebles, Redmond, Ore., was down for a bit of time, but the crowd cheered on as he stood up and, with assistance, walked off the arena with a score of 76.

Steer wrestler Tristan Martin landed an impressive 3.9 on his ride tonight, but it was Newt Novich, Twin Bridges, Mont. that secured his spot in the top 12 with a combined score of 9.6.

Team-roping duo Clay Smith, Broken Bow, Okla. and Paul Eaves, Millsap, Texas, wowed the crowd as they roped their calf in an impressive 4.8 seconds.

In saddle bronc, Big Bend Rodeo’s Majorhuckleberry helped Cody DeMoss, Heflin, La. tie for second.

Tie-down roping local Dakota Eldridge of Elko, Nev. snagged the top score of the night, but it wasn’t enough to take him to finals.

Brennon Eldred of Sulphur, Okla. secured his spot as the second overall runner up and with an impressive 87.5 in bull riding tonight. He’ll be competing in the finals tomorrow night.
