Aaron Vosler Ties San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Record

By Tracy Renck

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Steer wrestler Aaron Vosler was lightning quick while competing at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in the AT&T Center, Feb. 12.

Vosler, a Wyoming cowboy, clocked a 3.0-second time in the first round of Bracket 3, tying the rodeo record set by Timmy Sparing in 2014.

“I kept looking back and staring at the barrier string,” Vosler said in a press release. “I knew that I had a good start, but I was just waiting for them to tell me that I’d broken the barrier.”

The full-time rodeo cowboy and his 19-year-old gelding he calls Slammer will be back to compete on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

“It hasn’t sunk in,” Vosler said in a press release. “I’ve never been that fast before. I just hope the momentum stays with me.”

Vosler earned $2,500 for the round win. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, which is a ProRodeo Tour Rodeo, concludes Feb. 23.
