An Animal-Filled Adventure Awaits at Aggie Days!

Calgary, AB – The free, family-friendly fun of the Calgary Stampede’s Aggie Days will be bringing the farm to the city for everyone to enjoy, April 5-9.

After settling into its new home in the Agrium Western Event Centre at Stampede Park, the popular annual event is now expanding to include the agriculture barn. This means there will be even more adorable animals of all shapes and sizes, from newborn lambs to massive draft horses!

The first three days of Aggie Days are reserved exclusively for pre-registered school groups, with doors opening to the public on the weekend, Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9. Approximately 40,000 people are expected to come out and share in the fun.

Included in the excitement on Saturday, April 8, is Clock, Stock and Barrel, the fast-paced action of stock dog trials. The event begins bright and early, with the first round taking place from 8-11 a.m. The second round is from noon-3 p.m., with the finals beginning at 3:15 p.m.

On Sunday, April 9, see the incredible trust between horse and rider in the Calgary Stampede Spring Extreme Cowboy Race. Each pair must maneuver through a series of obstacles, demonstrating the rider’s horsemanship skills and the horse’s athletic ability and speed. The Non-Pro class of the Extreme Cowboy race begins at noon with the Open class to follow.
