BlueDEF Velocity Tour to Offer $10,000 in Bonus Money

By: Heather Croze September 03, 2014@ 04:00:00 PM

Events in Minneapolis and Louisville will feature increased purses.

PUEBLO, Colo. – When the Professional Bull Riders BlueDEF Velocity Tour bucks into Louisville, Kentucky’s KFC Yum! Center on Sept. 13, and Minneapolis’ Target Center on Sept. 20, it will offer the best up and coming bull riders in the sport an increased total purse of $20,000 and the winner of each event a shot at $5,000 in a bounty bull bonus round.

In Louisville, four-time PBR World Champion Stock Contractor Jeff Robinson’s Great White will be the bounty bull of the night. This bovine athlete has only been ridden once in 19 attempts on the PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough Series. His buckoff percentage is 95 percent. Great White was last ridden nearly a year ago in October 2013 by Markus Mariluch at the PBR’s BFTS event in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The winner of the BDVT Louisville event will have the opportunity to take on Great White for $5,000.

In Minneapolis, former Viking defensive end, Jared Allen’s bull Magic Train is the $5,000 bounty bull that awaits the winner of that BDVT event. Magic Train has been ridden just once in six attempts on the BFTS. At the recent BFTS event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, it was sheer tenacity that helped Kasey Hayes ride the 1,500-pound Magic Train. It was the first time the bull had been ridden in BFTS competition.

In addition to offering bonus bulls in each city, the PBR has increased the total purse for these events from $10,000 to $20,000 each. These are markets previously visited by the BFTS, therefore the anticipation of the PBR’s return to these venues and the talent of the area’s young guns will bring the excitement of the sport to these cities as these men fight to make the elite ranks.

Ticket prices for both events range from $15-$78. Tickets for Louisville can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com and tickets for Minneapolis can be purchased at AXS.com.

Both events will be broadcast exclusively online via PBR LIVE at www.pbr.com. To sign up for this exclusive broadcast, visit PBR LIVE now.
