Bob Tallman Honored with an Evening of Stories, Food and Auctions

RENO, Nev. (Oct. 18, 2018) – Award-winning announcer and world-class cowboy Bob Tallman will be honored for his lifetime achievements on Saturday, Nov. 3 inside the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center Indoor Arena. The evening will feature great stories, delicious food and beverages, as well as live and silent auctions. All proceeds will go to build a brand new, state-of-the-art events center, which will include a 15-thousand-seat arena.

“We’re seeing more and more sell-out nights for the 10 days of Reno Rodeo,” said Mike Torvinen, 2019 Reno Rodeo President. “But this expansion project is about so much more. We think we can have big concerts, outdoor events, bring back the major equestrian events that used to come to Reno. This will be a special events center that will bring tourists and their money to Northern Nevada year-round.”

Tallman is no stranger to the accolades that come with three decades as an announcer for the biggest rodeos in the nation. The Nevada native, who now resides in Texas is a nine-time recipient of the “PRCA Announcer of the Year” award, announced the National Finals Rodeo 23 times and has appeared in several films as a rodeo announcer, including The Hi-Lo Country and Flicka. His Bob Tallman Charities raise funds for various organizations including the M.D. Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital in Houston, the Speedway Children’s Charities and the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.

“It’s been nothing but a joy to announce at the Reno Rodeo over the years,” said Tallman. “I always enjoy the opportunity to visit Reno and spend time with all the fine people of the Reno Rodeo. To have my love for announcing honored in this way is a blessing.”

Doors open at 5 p.m. A table for eight is $1,200, a single ticket is $175, and a sponsor banner can be hung at the event for $500. All checks must be made payable to the Reno Rodeo Legacy Fund Arena.
