BISMARCK, North Dakota – Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas) grabbed the victory on the second night of the Dakota Community Bank & Trust: PBR (Professional Bull Riders) BlueDEF Tour (BDT) Challenge. Outlaw is on the comeback trail after having surgery on his left shoulder last November.

Outlaw missed all of the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) first half but recently started competing in BDT and PBR Canada events. Outlaw put up scores of 88.5 on Yesterday’s Wine (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) and 90.5 on Modified Clyde (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) for a total of 179 points. With the victory Outlaw earned $6,146.13 along with 80 points towards the PBR world standings.

Winners of each 2016 BlueDEF Tour event will be guaranteed a minimum of one opportunity to compete at a BFTS regular-season event in an attempt to win enough points to rank among the Top 35 and earn a spot on the elite tour. Thanks to the win in Bismarck, Outlaw will compete in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Charlotte Invitational presented by Cooper Tires, on Sept. 16-17.

Canadian Aaron Roy (Asquith, Saskatchewan) finished in second place after rides of 87.5 on Grandpa Joe (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) and 90.5 on Pile Driver (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve). Roy picked up 50 points towards the world standings and took home $4,390.09.

Valdiron de Oliveira (Palestina, Brazil) was the third place finisher off of rides of 90 and 87.5 points. He rode Wipeout (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) in Round 1 and then Cooper Tires Brown Sugar (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) in the championship round. Oliveira earned 30 points towards the world standings along with $3,408.78.

Cooper Davis (Wharton, Texas) took fourth place after 83 points on Mr. Hobbs (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) in Round 1. In the championship round he tallied his highest score of the season with a monster 92.5-point ride on Beaver Creek Beau (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve). Davis earned 30 points towards the world standings along with a paycheck of $2,685.70.

Jess Lockwood (Volborg, Montana) won Round 1 with the highest score of the night, 93 points on Siouxper Stinger (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve). Lockwood finished fifth, earning $2,107.24 and 15 points towards the world standings.

Despite not getting a qualified ride in the championship round, because of the money Lockwood won over the weekend he earned an attempt on World Championship Bull Asteroid (Dakota Rodeo-Berger/Struve) for a $10,000 bonus. Unfortunately Asteroid dispatched Lockwood in 1.78 seconds.

Paul Coppini (Kuna, Idaho) picked up 10 points towards the PBR world standings with his sixth place finish. Coppini rode Rebound (Berger Bucking Bulls) to 89.5 points in Round 1.

The BlueDEF Tour will next be in action on July 20 in Salinas, California, at California Rodeo Salinas.
