MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Lucas Divino went 3-for-3 to take home his second PBR Australia victory of the season this weekend at the Melbourne Invitational.

Divino won two of three rounds of competition inside Hisense Arena. He set the pace early by winning the first round of the event with 83.25 points on Buck. The runner-up for the 2017 PBR Brazil championship then rode Hells Bells for 84 points in Round 2. He capped his event victory with 87.5 points on High Flying Akubra to also win the championship round.

Sonny Schafferius (2-for-3, 169.75 points), Bailey Woodard (2-for-3, 169.25 points), Gustavo Pedrero (2-for-3, 165.75 points) and Michael Smith (165.75 points) rounded out the Top 5.

The wild weather wasn’t enough to keep away the thousands of PBR fans eager for the Melbourne Invitational. It had been eight years since the PBR visited the city and the near sell-out attendance didn’t disappoint, raising the roof of Hisense Arena, which normally plays host to the Australian Open tennis tournament.

Canadians Tanner Byrne and Brock Radford both tasted Aussie soil sooner than they would have liked, leaving the competition 0-for-2.

There were four additional rides in the championship round outside of Divino’s.

Braydon Welby would be the first to deliver a score in the championship round with 84.25 points. Schafferius then made the whistle on Light Em Up for 85.75 points. Pedrero picked up 84.75 points on Down Under, while Woodward rode for 84.5 points.
