For the Record: Caldwell

Since 1949, the Caldwell Night Rodeo has been taking place, and the best of the best cowboys and cowgirls have competed there.

The latest edition of the Caldwell Night Rodeo begins at 8 p.m., Aug. 14, and concludes Aug. 18.

The Wrangler ProRodeo Tour’s Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo will be broadcast on ProRodeoTV.com at 8 p.m. (MT), Aug. 17-18.

In 2001, bull rider Lee Akin cemented himself in the Caldwell Night Rodeo record book with a 94-point ride. He also set the rodeo’s two-head average record that year with 183 points.

Akin qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 1997, 2000-01. He finished third in the world standings in 2000 and 2001.
