For The Record: Red Bluff

The Red Bluff (Calif.) Round-Up has attracted some of the biggest names in ProRodeo since 1946, as they compete for one of the biggest payouts of the year. But only the best make Red Bluff Round-Up’s record book.

This year’s competition will be April 20-22, and every run and ride is a chance to make history.

Red Bluff’s biggest payout was in 2015 with a total of $254,615.

Ryle Smith set the Red Bluff Round-Up record for most money earned in all-around with $7,051 won between tie-down roping and steer wrestling in 2017.

Bareback rider Royce Ford (pictured above) set the record of 89 points in 2004.

Steer wrestler Anson Thurman’s had the record of 3.5 seconds since 1965.

Three sets of team ropers share the Red Bluff Round-Up record of 4.2 seconds. The record was originally set by Blaine Linaweaver and B.J. Campbell in 2004. Wade Wheatley and Britt Bockius matched the time in 2007, as did Riley Minor and Brady Minor in 2015.

Saddle bronc rider Chad Ferley set the record in 2010 with his 89-point ride.

Tie-down roper Clint Robinson’s had the record of 7.2 seconds since 2004.

Barrel racer Fallon Taylor set the record in 1995 with her 16.96-second run.

Four bull riders share the record of 92 points. Robey Condra set it in 2003, followed by Cody Buller (2004), Bobby Waller (2006) and Shawn Proctor (2007).
